Meet Erika Olmedo

I’m a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of CommuniKids Miami Speech Therapy. Since 2001, I have been dedicated to helping children—from toddlers to elementary school age—overcome speech and language challenges through personalized, evidence-based therapy.

I hold a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas –Callier Center for Communication Disorders and I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I have been honored with ASHA’s Award for Continuing Education (ACE) three times and have served as a clinical supervisor for graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology at Florida International University.

At CommuniKids Miami, I offer more than therapy—I offer connection.Therapy sessions take place at your child’s school, at my warm and welcoming Coral Gables clinic, or online through teletherapy. My approach is child-centered and family-focused, with a strong emphasis on collaborative parent coaching so caregivers feel informed, empowered, and confident every step of the way.

I’m also proud to offer multilingual services in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, reflecting the rich diversity of the families we serve in the Greater Miami area.
